USA Track & Field Junior Olympic Competitive Team The competitive Junior Olympic Program is for athletes ages 8-18 both boys & girls. Team selection is based on a try out & evaluation process. The meets begin in late May and continue through the end of July. The competitive team participates in a variety of meet opportunities in both track & field and cross country. The competitive team participates in track meets throughout Colorado with the majority of competitions within the Denver Metro area. Regional, National, & Youth Championships will require travel. Traveling to meets is optional.
Home Of Champions The Zoom Track Club is home to many National Elite All Americans (top 20 performances in the USA) and National Elite Honor Roll Members (top 100 performance in the USA.) Currently the Zoom Track Club has qualified athletes to the Region 10 Championships in 429 events. (Region 10 qualifiers are the top 3 performances in the state.) Zoom has 13 USATF Region 10 Champions, and 57 USATF National Qualifiers. Zoom athletes have won 3 national titles including a new National Youth Record set by Eleanor Fulton in the Steeplechase in 2008. Eight additional National medal winning performances were made at the National Championships by members of the Zoom Track Club. National Elite Youth Ranking System
Practice Regular season runs April 26 - July 29, 2010. Competitive athletes train between 5-10 hours per week depending on event interest and training desire. Practice times & length depend on event interest. The majority of athletes will practice Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Additional practices, clinics, & specialty training opportunities are available throughout the season. Technical events will have additional specialty practices.
Location Athletes train at a variety of locations to fulfill their training needs. The bulk of our training will take place at Rock Canyon H.S. & Mountain Vista H.S. We also utilize Douglas County Parks & open space.
Age Divisions USA Track & Field competitions take place in two-year age divisions. The age divisions for competition year 2010 are as follows:

* Athletes who are still 18 through the final day of the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships are eligible to compete in the Young Men's and Young Women's divisions through that meet. This extended eligibility does not apply to cross country events.
Events The Zoom Track Club provides training for sprints, relays, hurdles, mid-distance, distance, and jumping events. Our team does not provide training for pole vault, throws or race walking.
